[Headline] Ministry of Education: Admission to National College of Education on Technology (Kuliyapitiya) 2026

The Ministry of Education has officially called for applications for the four-year Pre-Service Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Degree at the National College of Education (NCoE) on Technology, Kuliyapitiya. This program offers a total intake of 210 student teachers based on 2024 G.C.E. A/L results.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this intake, applicants must meet the following requirements:

General Requirements

  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka.

  • Age: Under 25 years as of January 1, 2026.

  • Status: Must be unmarried.

  • Health: Good character and sound physical/mental health.

Educational Qualifications

  • G.C.E. A/L (2024): Passed 3 subjects in one sitting.

  • G.C.E. O/L: Passed 6 subjects in one sitting, including:

    • Sinhala/Tamil language

    • Mathematics

    • Compulsory: A simple pass in English Language or English Literature.

  • Additional Requirement: A total of 3 Credit passes.

Important Terms & Conditions

  • Training & Allowance: Students receive residential training with monthly meal/lodging support of Rs. 10,500. An equivalent monthly allowance is provided during the internship year.

  • Agreement: Selected candidates must sign a bond/agreement valued at Rs. 1,500,000.

  • Selection Process: 50% National basis / 50% District basis, determined by Z-Score.

Note: Those already appointed as teachers, current state university students, or those registered via the UGC online system are not eligible to apply.
